Reed-Newman Shelves

detail
This shelf system was mounted to its 20-foot living room wall with hidden cantilevers. The shelves were designed to meander around the enclosed cabinets like a stream around rocks, the occasional “sunken” shelf left open at the top to support the owners’ collection of houseplants.

Beech was used as a refined visual tie-in with the existing white oak flooring; threaded rod and stainless steel tubing suspend the front edges.
